Do not attempt to keep an EGA-1 burner lit by repeated resetting. The operator limit is one initial press of burner reset button I and, only where warning light G remains on, one delayed retry after “a few minutes”. A burner that still will not ignite after that retry requires the technical service centre. This guidance applies to the Italforni EGA-1 and is for trained operators only. The oven is professional equipment; maintenance, repair, commissioning and servicing remain outside operator scope. [EGA1-20-01, EGA1-20-02, EGA1-20-03]
Before you start
- Only trained staff may operate the oven. If trained staff are not available, do not operate it or attempt the reset. [EGA1-20-01]
- Before start-up, make the manual’s external checks: burner airflow and room ventilation must be unobstructed; nothing may obstruct the combusted-gas outlet or oven flue; and the hood and flue fumes-exhaust system must be effective. Do not start the oven while an obstruction remains or the fumes-exhaust system is ineffective. [EGA1-20-04, EGA1-20-05, EGA1-20-06]
- Identify the external controls before acting: G is the red shutdown warning light and I is the burner reset button. [EGA1-20-08, EGA1-20-09]
Safety warnings
- The sequence below allows no more than one initial reset and one conditional delayed retry. The manual does not authorise repeated reset cycling. [EGA1-21-03, EGA1-21-04]
- Do not remove panels, including the right-side panel, to investigate or reset a safety device. Do not inspect, reconnect or alter internal wiring, ignition parts, gas controls, burners or other components. - Do not attempt to reset the safety thermostat. When that device activates, it stops gas flow to the burner, and its manual reset is for a specialised technician only. [EGA1-22-02, EGA1-22-03]
Bounded operator reset: the only permitted sequence
Use this procedure when the burner has shut down. It is an external control action only; it is not a fault-finding or repair procedure. [EGA1-21-02, EGA1-20-09, EGA1-20-02]
- Press red burner reset button I once. [EGA1-21-02]
- Observe red warning light G. If it does not go out after the first reset, wait “a few minutes”. The manual gives no exact waiting time. [EGA1-21-03, EGA1-20-08]
- After that wait, press the reset button once more. This is the single documented retry. [EGA1-21-03]
- If the burner still does not ignite after the retry, stop and contact the technical service centre. [EGA1-21-04]
What the red warning light means—and what it does not permit
The flame-control system cuts off the burner gas supply if the burner is accidentally extinguished or fails to start. In those circumstances, red warning light G comes on. This tells the operator that the flame-control system has responded; it is not permission to access or work on the flame electrode, PCB, gas solenoid valve or associated controls. Do not assign a cause from the light or from the burner symptom alone. The manual lists several possible causes for non-ignition or shutdown, including ignition-plug or wire issues, incorrect electrical polarity, gas-valve faults, low gas-pipe pressure, blocked injectors, clogged burner outlets, thermostat faults and disconnected wires. If the burner lights but will not stay lit
A burner that ignites and then goes out again falls within the manual’s troubleshooting symptoms of continuous shutdown or switching off. Do not try to resolve this by further reset cycling and do not attempt an operator repair. The supplied manual evidence gives no separate operator procedure for recurring shutdown; refer the oven to technical service. [EGA1-19-01, EGA1-20-02]
If the oven is operating after a successful start-up, it must remain supervised. Supervision does not extend the reset limit or authorise internal intervention. [EGA1-20-07, EGA1-21-03]
Stop and get help if
- Stop resetting after the initial press and one delayed retry; do not make a third reset attempt. [EGA1-21-03, EGA1-21-04]
- Stop and refer to technical service if the burner does not ignite after the delayed retry. [EGA1-21-04]
- Stop reset cycling and refer to technical service if the burner repeatedly shuts down or switches off after lighting. [EGA1-19-01]
- Stop if panel access or a safety-thermostat reset appears necessary. Leave the panel closed and obtain a specialised technician. [EGA1-22-03, EGA1-22-04]
- Do not operate while burner airflow, room ventilation, the combusted-gas outlet or flue is obstructed, or while the fumes-exhaust system is ineffective. [EGA1-20-04, EGA1-20-05, EGA1-20-06]
When to call an engineer
- Contact the technical service centre when the burner still does not ignite after the permitted delayed retry. [EGA1-21-04]
- Contact technical service for a burner that continually shuts down or switches off after ignition. The manual identifies these as troubleshooting symptoms but does not give an additional operator repair path. [EGA1-19-01]
- Use a specialised technician for a safety-thermostat reset, and manufacturer-authorised installers for servicing, commissioning or component work. [EGA1-22-03, EGA1-20-03, EGA1-18-01]
