When to defrost

UF models must be defrosted manually. TEFCOLD recommends defrosting every three months or when the ice layer exceeds 5 mm.

Never use metal or other sharp objects to scrape the internal sides because this can damage the freezer.

Defrosting sequence

Disconnect the freezer. Empty the freezer. Leave the freezer with the door open.

Place a tray in the bottom of the cabinet to collect defrosted water. Clean the freezer with mild detergent and wipe thoroughly. Connect the freezer; it is then ready for use.

Refrigerant safety

For an appliance with R290 or R600a, do not use mechanical devices when defrosting because this can cause cooling-system leakage. For an appliance with R290 or R600a, do not use electrical appliances inside the refrigerated storage compartment.

Any repair should be carried out by a skilled technician.

If cooling does not resume

If the cabinet fails to cool, check whether the reason is a power cut. If the reason for the failure cannot be located, contact the supplier.

Give the supplier the model and serial number. The model and serial number are on the rating label inside the cabinet at the top right-hand side.
