To clean and sterilise the Blizzard BIM90 ice maker, empty all ice from the storage bin, run the automated fifteen-minute cleaning cycle with manual cleaning solution and evaporator spraying, drain the trough, execute the fifteen-minute sterilising cycle, and allow the machine to complete its automatic twenty-five-minute rinse cycle before discarding the first five batches of newly produced ice.

Before you start
- Before performing any maintenance or manual cleaning on the ice maker, make sure that both the electrical power supply and the incoming water source are completely cut off.
- Empty all ice out of the ice storage bin completely in advance of starting the cleaning procedure to avoid chemical contamination.
Safety warnings
- Be sure to cut off both the water source and the electrical power supply before conducting any maintenance or manual cleaning.
- Do not directly flush the evaporator or the area situated above the water pump in order to ensure essential water ingress protection.
- Always throw away the first five batches of ice produced after completing the cleaning routine in case chemical cleaner residue remains.
Pre-Cleaning Preparation and Manual Component Sanitisation
Prior to initiating the automated cleaning cycle, all stored ice must be completely removed from the ice storage bin.
Both the incoming water source and the mains electrical power supply must be cut off before performing any manual cleaning tasks.
The ice sliding board, water distribution pipe, reservoir, and water supply pipe must be thoroughly cleaned and sterilised.
A complete rinsing of the ice sliding board, water distribution pipe, reservoir, and water supply pipe is required after manual sanitisation.
Direct flushing of the evaporator or the area directly situated above the water pump must never be performed during interior cleaning.
- Remove every batch of ice from the ice storage bin in advance of starting the clean function.
- Cut off both the incoming water supply and the electrical power before touching internal parts.
- Clean and sterilise the ice sliding board, the water distribution pipe, the water reservoir, and the water supply pipe.
- Perform a complete and thorough rinsing of all cleaned and sterilised internal water contact components.
- Avoid flushing or spraying water directly onto the section above the water pump or directly onto the evaporator.
Running the Automated Fifteen-Minute Clean Cycle
The automated cleaning procedure requires the Blizzard BIM90 ice machine to be powered on and engaged via the front control panel.
Pushing and holding the clean button for three seconds places the ice maker directly into the automatic clean process.
After the initial water has drained from the trough, the operator must manually add the proper amount of clean solution.
Pushing the clean button once again initiates the automated cleaning cycle which runs for approximately fifteen minutes.
During this fifteen-minute cleaning stage, spray cleaning must be applied simultaneously to the evaporator to guarantee a complete clean.
The LED display on the front control panel will flash Clean slowly once this fifteen-minute cleaning cycle has finished.
- Restore electrical power and turn on the ice maker.
- Push and hold the clean button for three seconds to enter the cleaning process.
- Allow the initial water to drain from the water trough and manually add the proper amount of cleaning solution.
- Push the clean button again to commence the automatic fifteen-minute cleaning cycle.
- Spray clean the evaporator simultaneously while the machine is running its fifteen-minute auto clean.
- Wait until the auto clean cycle concludes and the LED display flashes Clean slowly.
Executing the Sterilising Sequence and Automatic Rinsing
All water remaining in the water trough must be drained immediately after the auto clean cycle ends.
The operator must then manually introduce the proper amount of sterilising solution into the unit according to instructions.
Pushing the clean button once more starts the automatic sterilising sequence, which operates for approximately fifteen minutes.
Simultaneous spray sterilising must be carried out across the evaporator surface during this fifteen-minute period.
Upon completing the sterilising cycle, the ice maker transitions automatically into an intensive rinsing process that lasts about twenty-five minutes.
The ice maker automatically resumes normal ice making operation as soon as the twenty-five-minute rinsing cycle finishes.
The operator must discard the next five batches of harvested ice to eliminate any risk of remaining chemical residue.
- Drain all remaining water from the water trough after the cleaning cycle completes.
- Add the proper amount of sterilising solution manually into the ice maker.
- Push the clean button once more to start the fifteen-minute auto sterilising cycle.
- Spray sterilise the evaporator simultaneously throughout the fifteen-minute cycle.
- Allow the machine to run through its automatic twenty-five-minute rinsing cycle uninterrupted.
- Verify that the ice maker automatically switches back to ice making mode after rinsing ends.
- Throw away the first five batches of newly made ice before putting the machine back into service.
