Short answer: Put suitable cookware containing food on the hob, connect it to a suitable socket, press ON/OFF, then press FUNCTION to select POWER, TEMP or TIMER. Use − or + to adjust the selected function. For E0, check the pan. For E1, clear external ventilation slots and allow the unit to cool for a few minutes; if the code remains after cooling, contact the dealer. For E2, unplug the hob, remove the cookware, let it cool for a few minutes and restart it. For E3, unplug it and reconnect it after a few minutes. Never open the body or investigate an internal component.
Normal controls
The reviewed manual explicitly covers the Combisteel 7020.0130 Induction Cooking Top. It specifies a power range of 500–3500 W, a supply of 220–240 V / 50 Hz, and a temperature range of 60–240°C.
- Place suitable cookware on the cooking plate and connect the plug to a suitable socket. The ON/OFF light illuminates when power is connected normally.
- Press ON/OFF, then press FUNCTION to start heating. The documented default heating power is 2000 W.
- Press FUNCTION to select POWER, TEMP or TIMER.
- Use − or + to adjust the selected function.
The listed POWER steps are 500, 800, 1000, 1300, 1500, 1800, 2000, 2300, 2500, 2700, 2900, 3100 and 3500 W. The listed TEMP steps are 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 220 and 240°C. TIMER runs from 0 to 180 minutes in five-minute intervals.
Pressing ON/OFF while the hob is operating stops heating immediately. The fan then cools the induction hob for at least one minute before switching off, so do not disconnect it merely because the fan continues after heating stops.
Compatible cookware
The manual lists flat-bottom cookware with a 12–26 cm diameter in steel, cast iron, enamelled iron and stainless steel as usable. Its non-usable examples include heat-resistant glass, ceramic, copper and aluminium cookware, rounded-bottom pans, bases under 12 cm and pots with stands.
Use the manufacturer’s listed shapes, materials and size range. The reviewed page does not specify a stainless-steel grade or give a magnetic test, so this guide does not add either. Do not heat an empty pot or allow dry boiling. Keep knives, forks, spoons, lids, cans and aluminium foil off the top plate.
E0–E3 error messages
E0 — no pan or unsuitable cookware
Meaning: The hob has no pan on it, or the cookware is unsuitable.
Owner action: Place appropriate cookware containing food on the hob. Recheck the manual-listed material, flat base and 12–26 cm diameter.
E1 — excessive heating or damaged parts
Meaning: The manual gives two possible causes: the appliance has heated extensively, for example because ventilation slots are covered, or parts are damaged, such as a transistor. It provides no owner test to distinguish those causes.
Owner action: Clear the external ventilation slots and let the appliance cool for a few minutes. If E1 is still displayed after the appliance has cooled, contact the dealer. A damaged transistor or any other internal component is service-only: do not open the body, remove covers or inspect wiring.
E2 — overheating protection active
Meaning: The overheating protection has operated and the appliance switches off.
Owner action: Pull the plug from the socket, remove the cookware from the hob, let the appliance cool for a few minutes, and then restart it. The manual says only “a few minutes”; do not substitute an invented exact duration.
E3 — short power interruption
Meaning: The manual describes E3 as a short-lasting power cut.
Owner action: Pull the plug from the socket and plug the appliance in again after a few minutes. The manual gives no duration or voltage threshold for identifying the supply event. If E3 returns, stop and contact the dealer rather than testing the electrical supply internally.
Safety and escalation
Do not plug in the hob with wet hands or use a socket shared with several other appliances. Do not use it if the power cord is damaged or the plug does not fit safely. If the cooking surface is cracked, switch off and take the unit to a service centre immediately. Keep the air intake and exhaust vent clear, and do not touch the top plate immediately after removing a pan because it remains very hot.
If an error cannot be cleared by the documented owner action, do not open the body. Notify the dealer and provide the type of malfunction, the article and serial number from the rating plate at the rear, and the date of purchase. Power-cord replacement and all internal component, transistor or wiring work are for qualified technicians.
